Eyrie Vineyards Chardonnay 2016
Eyrie's old-vine Chardonnay vineyard blocks (47 years old in 2010) are planted to a unique selection of clones, the "Draper Selection," which are particularly well suited to Oregon's climate. This selection was made in 1964 from Chardonnay vines imported to the U.S. in the 1890s and 1930s. We treat these grapes with great respect. The wine rests undisturbed "sur lies" in barrel for one year, is moderately filtered, then bottled. Eyrie Chardonnay expresses complex aromas and only the barest hint of oak. On the palate, the wine's richness is reiterated, finishing long and crisp
