Bodegas Lan Gran Reserva 2007
Deep cherry-red with violet hues. Intense aromas of red fruits and fine wood. Elegant and well balanced in the mouth.
Wine SpectatorTar and gamy notes shadow plum and cola flavors in this muscular red that's thick on the palate, with solid tannins and balsamic acidity. Rich, a bit heavy; decant. Drink now through 2020. 7,000 cases made.
Dominus Napa Valley Red 2011The 2011 vintage displays fresh almond, wild strawberry and cassis. The wine has delicate notes of smooth caramel. Polished tannins, dark berries, cocoa and sage accompany a long elegant finish.
Valle dell'Acate Il Frappato 2015Color: Very clear ruby red. Aroma: Fragrant, fresh and overpowering; hints of red fruits, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries, violet flowers and sage. Flavor: Very vivacious and fresh, particularly aromatic because of red fruit and rosebuds, a dry pleasant and persistent closing. Best paired with: Appetizers including fresh and aged cheeses, salamis, Sicilian red tuna, fish soup, mullet, sushi and sashimi. Serve at: 14º-15º C, slightly fresher than the usual temperature for reds.
Carlisle Papera Ranch Zinfandel 2012Medium-dark ruby-garnet. Red fruits - raspberry, strawberry, cranberry - dominate the deep and powerful nose. The wine enters full and rich with red fruits, blood orange, and spice buffering the silky tannins. Surprisingly, a more masculine Zinfandel in this vintage than Carlisle Vineyard despite the lack of significant mixed blacks. Enjoy 2015 through 2020.
